once a year, i go up north on highway 1 to a town called Gualala, and each year i select a different companion to watch the salmon fuck as we drink crab and eat a lot of wine with some sourdough bread
your picture resembles the Gualala Hotel where we usually end up so we can attempt to mimic the salmon
the hotel is a stone firetrap with a bar on the first floor and several rooms above, all with 12" baseboards and similar trim on the wood walls and wood ceilings and wood floors
i've met firemen, and many other individuals, who won't stay there because of the fire danger and from the noise of the bar and i say: "yeah right, like you stay there to sleep or something like that"

I have been thru Gualala a time or three. Salmon watching is getting tedious since they insist on becoming endangered.

I laughed with you yesterday because of one of your Uber stories about gassing and driving away still hooked to the pump! Read the story a while back, don't know what made me think of it last night. Think I will go read and laugh again.

The presence on the balcony seems female when I view it in this photo. When I took the photo she was not visible. There was nobody up there, floor of the balcony was not safe because of wood rot. I has just come down from there and I was alone.
This place was hideous and I will never forget it.

Seldom does a post come along that is so soul-shockingly bad that it stands out, like a beacon in the dark that you know isn't good for you, like seeing "McDonalds next 3 exits" when you're starving, and you can see the glow of the golden arches across the night-- which negates rational thought, and there is simply "Being," as Deepak might say.
