The daily humdrum of life means nothing until it gets put into perspective, most often through something unplanned. A catastrophic or personal event will cause you to back up and wonder why you never even considered the possibility of it.

Everything you hear or read about in life is like a shadow, that imaginary something that will never come to pass. It's always in a movie or happens to the neighbors, but you never consider the possible reality of it entering your own life.

Be aware that those things do not exist only in the world of fiction nor happen only to strangers, but believe in your heart that you could be the recipient of life-changing news, something which in effect will rule you and yours until the end.

Maybe they are wrong, but time will provide the only answer. I understand that if wishes were horses beggars would ride, but I would be satisfied simply to walk. Medical folks make mistakes like all of us, but there is no earthly way to change places, and that sucks.

On a side note though, what amuses me is the amount of -2DIE NOOB blah blah blah that all of the new users get, (even if their material is somewhat decent) but like the messages below the so-called "elders" kiss each other's ass and rate based on user number. "Elders" bitch about Ubersite going to shit, when half of the shit comes from the them. I'm probably just beating a dead horse here, but perhaps if we rated based on content rather than ID# the quality would go up drastically!

Fuck that bullshit, It will never happen. But you are a prick and you reap what you sow...

Of course you don't care, crow. I'd be scared if you did.

Apollo: You remember that what I wrote was in anger and under severe influence. Poor excuses.

I wish the best to you and yours, as well. Let's just start over.

Certain dicks on the site don't care about any of us, but maybe we're better than that. I fucked up, and I ask your forgiveness. I will eventually write another post about my wife. Thanks.

I saw a study concerning hospital patients. The patients that had a yellow flower on their trays got out of the hospital almost two days sooner than patients who had flowers of any other color.

I am lighting a yellow candle and the White Sage.

This post isn't disrespectful.

Perhaps that is where i wasn't being clear.

The trolling posts that will happen is what is going to be wrong.

What I hate about this is that it invites those types of post.

I don't know, maybe it's more that if I had wrote this, even with well intentions, only to turn around and seeing it being saterized I would feel awful.

I would very much feel like I had defiled thier memory just for a bit more sympathy.

Evidently no one else here feels like that.

So while I won't apologize, and i won't say i'm wrong, I'll at least stop trying to explain why this angers me.

well that's a step up usually he's flat out imagining why only wrestlers should have ponytails. wait that's 'comprehending'. still.

And if I was you lungfish I'd petition the state of arizona to let the gallstones build a casino on that pissant patch of barren wasteland you pilgrims so generously refer to as a 'reservation'. that way they'd be less inclined to send raiding parties on sorties into hicksville and more inclined to stay at home and concentrate on trying to sign tom jones for a six month stint at the prairie palace.

Doodles, you truly are a lesser being. You can try to dress up your petty ideals all you want, but it all boils down to the fact that you simply are too god damn dim to understand the 'normal' human condition. Every single other person around is trying to tell you that the sky is blue, but NO. You'll stand there and scream 'til your throat bleeds that the sky is green. Why? Because you're imperfect, Doodles. You are a failure in function. Not only can you not grasp the concept of a Blue Sky, but you can't even admit that the possibility exists.

That said...

Turnips are indeed foul. Bubba, I wish nothing but the best of health & happiness for you & your wife.

you're missing the point.

it isn't about bubba's grieving.

It's about his grieving at the cost of his wife's image.

The bottom line is ubersite is not the appropriate outlet for this.

If you need me to link you reasons as to why this shouldn't exist here, I'll be more than happy to.
===
I'm not trying to be combative, but who are you to weigh someone else's grieving? Who are you to decide what is appropriate here, for anyone other than yourself?

There is no rule that this place has to be defined solely by the outrageous content you find here. I can link you to pieces I've written about people I love the most in my life that are deeply personal to me and were well received here. I didn't write it for uber, but I had every right to share it. I can do the same for many other users, some of whom have also posted goatse or the equivalent. Just because other people at other times posted something entirely different (myself included) does not cheapen this post or the poster's feelings or mandate what can and cannot be shared here. If it did mean that, I'd be a ghost along with a lot of other people here. It's not that I don't understand your point of view, because I do. I want to be clear that I most certainly did not miss your point. I just disagree with it.

doodles, that is piss poor reasoning, but you've already been told that. when it comes to rob's brother, who do you think HAS THE MEMORY of him? death doesn't hurt the dead. i don't need to mention the whole "people deal with grief in different ways" subject. did you think rob's brother is somehow grieving for himself? do you think bubba's poor wife is now thinking OMG IT SUCKS TO BE UNCONSCIOUS! i'm willing to bet my gramma sure as hell wasn't going "wow, i hate being anesthetized and unconscious and dying on this operating table." who the hell do you know that's unconscious or has ceased all brain activity that will be able to care about their own memory? when you die, you die. the people left behind are the ones that are screwed up and hurt. are you afraid of ghosts or something? like do you think the dead person will come back and haunt you because someone choose to share their grief over the loss of that person? and if/when his wife recovers, do you really think she'll be offended that he sought comfort? bubba's wife needs sympathy, so does bubba because it is also his tragedy. a good marriage is a shared life. a good any sort of love is sharing the pain when it comes.

when people get hurt, the people that care about them also get hurt. if you had anyone that valued your presence in their life you'd know that the connection to the life is just as important as the life itself. i rarely say this, but get some therapy. it's practically sociopathic to not see that.

(sorry rob and bubba if i have offended you)

Honestly my whole problem with this is that--and bubba even says this-- it was written for him.

To me that shows that the priorities aren't straight.

He's placing how this misfortune impacts him above how it impacts her.

It's animal nature to consider yourself first, and the undertones of this point prove, to me if no one else, that you're meeting this need.

To be fair, it obviously impacts bubba, and my problem isn't his need to share this.

Or his desire for sympathy.

my problem lies with the fact that to meet his need he is willing to sacrifice his wife's image.

Once again what people think of bubba's wife is of little consequence to me, HOWEVER, it should be of great consequence to bubba.

This post signifies that it isn't.

That is disgusting

My point has, and ontinues to be that this type of post does not belong here, because of how it will be used to disprespect the subject while simotaniously showering the poster with sympathy.

I have nothing but scorn for those that would whore out the misfortune of those that they claim to love, be it intentional or not.

Since I was a boy I've always used writing as an outlet. Whether I was good at it, bad at it, or somewhere in the middle...it was irrelevant. The idea was that it allowed me to express myself without speaking aloud. And I liked that.

And at one point in my life, there was a very brief window of time where I liked to post my thoughts on Ubersite. There was some fiction and a good deal of truth as well. I never posted for someone else's benefit. It was always for me.

So when I read reviews saying "why did you post this here"...and, "did you expect people here to have sympathy for you", etc...I'm always a little confused. Do people who review actually think that 100% of the writing here is for them?? How presumptive.

I lost the very best friend I had in the world. I posted it here. I didn't do it to get +2s or receive sympathy. I posted it because it was cathatric for me. Sure, I could have left the piece sitting on my hard drive, private only to myself, but I wanted it out there. I wanted to say it. I wanted it heard. But that's all I wanted. That was enough. And it felt pretty good.

People have posted thoughts about their family and friends dying or in pain here. We have all been there. So why judge? Whos to say whether one place is better than another to express oneself? And why does it matter?

i try not to bash people for posting this sort of thing here, it's just not necessarily something I'D do. how an individual decides to help themselves through a trying time is their decision, and i don't ususally like to kick someone when they are down. usually. i sling shit but don't really harbour ill wishes for any of the people who i sling it at (well one or two of them, yes, but not most...)

that said: you don't like horseradish? wtf is wrong with you?

best wishes to your wife bubba.

lord knows the poor woman has faced enough trials and tribulations being married to you.

ps, horseradish is delicious you fucking insane hillbilly.

Sacrilicious, thank you. You are a sweetheart.

Doodles, keep on playing the bad guy. It seems to be your best defense in a world where only you are important.

D_R, thanks for the laugh. You don't know how close all of that is to reality. I will relish being bitched at.

BEING A DYKE IS NO EXCUSE FOR BEING RETARDED

chin up bubba, doctors are like forensic psychologists, basically they just guess and quack. Your wife will be telling you to take out the garbage, mow the lawn, paint the eaves, clean the gutters, stand in galeforce eleventy winds and to click your heels so she gets better reception for ellen and oprah, and for you to not watch sport when you finally come in after being blown off the roof after having your kidneys punched out by the trash cans you just emptied, and landed on, trying to get her better fucking reception, in no time. how sweet will that be.

I don't understand the logic behind the belief that a person sharing feelings of grief- feelings he OWNS and can share with anyone he wishes to in any way that helps him deal with them- is somehow disrespectful to a person or to their memory, and it for damn sure is no less disgraceful than attacking people while they are experiencing such anguish just because they shared it in a place that isn't always supportive.

Bubba, I hope your wife has as painless a recovery as she can, and your support for her is her world right now. It's clear that you love her and are up to the task.

The rest of you who are so offended by such posts but celebrate the rest of what you see here on a daily basis, if you go to your grave believing that those who share parts of their lives here are pathetic but that you're somehow justified for kicking them when they're down just because people have done it before and because you can, then you can rest in empty, peaceful smugness. Why don't you live and let live for fuck's sake.

Maybe I didn't express myself clearly.

The fact that you are-and always have been- in the mindset that your brother's death was hard for YOU, speaks volumes about you as a person.

The fact that you decided to inform everyone here at ubersite tells me few things:

1. You needed words of sympathy from people you didn't know. People who most likely didn't care.

2. You getting this mock sympathy was worth more to you than the memory of your brother.

3. Maybe that you thought you were special. Sure lojope was run off because she told us about how she was raped, jpeg and ets mostly went crazy when they got too invested here- but you ROB BERG were different, people would truely be upset for you.

Doodles,

Feel free to express your opinions here as you always have. As I and others always have and always will. We all know that we are alike and different at the same time; that's called being human. I like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. Do you? I hate turnips and I detest horseradish. How about you? I have never and would never cheat on my wife. You?

I'm twice the age of the typical uberite, but I have seen the occasional bit of good advice mixed in with all the shit thrown about in these parts. The source of good things is of no importance, but only the value of the words.

I wrote what I did for ME, not for you or others. Uber is more than a shit site for the exchange of insults, although that is a big part of it. Many times people use it as a form of self help. If only I had..... If only I hadn't... Write what you wish in the reviews. I don't care.

This was to have been the original post:

My wife is in the CCU from an accidental overdose of narcotic painkillers. Her mind wasn't working well after the recent surgery, and her kidneys had problems, as well. She was asleep on the couch and apparently vomited without awakening and aspirated it into her lungs. I came home and heard her making rattling noises and saw brown vomit on her chin and shirt. When I attempted to wake her, she made almost no response.

I sat her up and called 911, and they responded with seven people in less than five minutes. The doctor said that in another five minutes she would have died. If only I hadn't stopped by the store to buy dinner I would have been there when it happened.

Now they have her on a machine and four antibiotics. The doctor says she will likely recover but will be severely disabled. I only wanted to cook her a steak for her birthday.

Well bubbles - I had thought up to this little tirade that you were an entertaining little troll who used the internet to keep himself distracted and amused - picking irrelevant fights with random nerds on this obscure shitstain of a website in the middle of cyber buttfuck nowhere.

I had no idea you were so personally invested in the simplistic words that us grown ups used to express ourselves. That you actually feel disgust is amazing to me.

I can do little to affect your limited understanding of the motivations behind my sharing the devastation I felt when my brother suddenly died last August.

I think people like you are incapable of forming the kind of meaningful relationships that most certainly exist even in a dump like this. I have met and interacted with some amazing people - many of whom continue to be my friends far outside the confines of this website. Explaining what it meant to share my pain with those people is lost on little shitheads like you and Simon and Sam and Al and all the other huffy and puffy fuckwads that infect this site... because none of you have the capacity to even make those kind of friends.

Which is just fine. There are no rules to how people choose to interact.

As I have said before - what people choose to do with the information that we provide them is entirely up to them. Personally my motivation was never to force sympathy from people or garner extra attention - but those who took notice and offered it up selflessly have truly helped me through an impossible time in their own special way and it is absolutely appreciated - and readily reciprocated.

If writing this has helped Bubba work through his own situation in even the smallest way - then God bless him. He certainly has my sympathy and well wishes as he deal with it in any way he can.

That you choose to continue to shit on him (and me) speaks volumes of the kind of person you are... but you seem perfectly ok with that so good on ya - we'll see how well that works out for you in life.

Yeah, THAT is the disgusting thing about this site.

People use whatever means they have to deal with life's random bullshit, bubbles.

What is it in your life that requires you to be such a douche?
---

I'm sorry that you feel such a compelling need for people's attention, but this is most definitively not the place.

Incase you haven't noticed ubersite has a track record of scorning people's misfortunes.

Understand that's not what i'm doing.

I feel more of a sense of disgust that you find it acceptable to disgrace the people (or in your case rob, the memory of the people) that you claim to love.

It's selfish and pathetic.

It honestly makes me feel ill.

Everyone here knows what it's like to lose someone close to them.

The deference between us and you and bubba is that WE DO NOT, I REPEAT NOT, FEEL THE NEED TO DEFILE THE MEMORY OF THOSE THAT WE CARE ABOUT BY INFORMING UBERSITE.

I can't even begin to imagine the thought process behind these sorts of posts.

What I'm saying rob is that you are the worst kind of shit.

Your worse than sico and oathmeal et. all.

See you presented your brother, prostrate, on a fucking golden platter for them.

They just choose to do the obvious thing and accept such an easily ignitable spark.

This whole business is utterly disgusting and you, sir, are the ring leader.

You know hw the trolls are here, yet you STILL decided to defame your brother for your fifteen minutes of uber fame.

I honestly don't have the words to describe my feeling of loathing and disgust at what you did.

At what bubba is currently doing.

It's unbelievable what people will do to those that they swear they care about.

So, yes, rob, "THAT" is what is disgusting. Not the inevitable posts about bubba's ( I assume) sick wife, but the fact that he and you have so little respect for his wife and your brother respectively. THAT is what is disgusting.

Once again i feel the need to say that I'm not trolling here, just letting you know how i feel about you.
