what with them selling everybody to real and only being able to afford johnsons

settle petal, you're obviously under the influence of your opiate and upset about city having so much monies. Maybe you could buy tim cahill from your merseyside rival if liverpool ever win the lotto, which is a lot better odds than them winning anything domestic or european.

'jerseys' 'callers fee' wtf you seppo cunt?

you'll be adding a 's' to 'offside' the way you're going.

offsides and winningest are the two most fist curling words that americans use.

and you know if you DID sell torres to city you could probably get enough to buy three or four more of those johnsons, that way you would save money on jerseys and probably martin tylers caller's fee. win win.

yes liverpool are poor.

some seppos bought us for stupi money then put that stupid loan on the club and even though the club made 40 million quid profit the 'group' i.e. their fucking holding company with the huge fucking loan, made a loss servicing interest payments on their fucking loan they took out to buy our fucking club.

its madness.

i'm going to buy Shell for $1trillion. Then I'm going to get a loan of $1.2 trillion and secure it against Shell. The profits from Shell will go to pay 'Shell Holdings' loan interest obligations. I will still own Shell you understand.

THAT WOULDN'T BE ALLOWED AND IT IS ONLY ALLOWED IN FOOTBALL. You can't leverage 100% for fucks fucking sake you stupid cunts.

Well, they're not stupid, they're sneaky sly and clever in an oily way - the fucking rules are stupid an inadequate in a multi billion dollar industry.

So yes, we're poor.

touched a nerve there gaynger raynger.

it is amazing how Clark hasn't played so far. We would far rather face Brett Lee than him.

Our selectors have decided to repay the favour to your selectors in this match by not including sidebottom and consistently picking Bopara at number 3, if anything he should be batting at 5 or 6 where he may get away with his loose strokes.

A half fit Flintoff would be more effective than Harmison.

Why we persisted with banging it in short for half the day is amazing.

With that in mind, it is now inevitable that the Aussies will triumph.

Seriously though, neither team can easily bowl the other out, it's almost painful at times. Watching Peter Siddle trundle up to bowl like a constipated Merv Hughes and Stuart Broad whirl his way to the wicket , only to bowl so wide of the wicket that Inspector Gadget would have trouble reaching it, leaves me feeling empty inside. Bowlers aren't actually getting many wickets with good balls, it's because of inept batsmen such as Bopara and Hussey being present that we don't have five days of one team batting.

I'm sorry ei did I give you the impression that I actually LIKE cricket?

There's a reason the play.....participants are fat ei it's because it's not a sport.

Sure there's an element of 'science' to them all standing out there slinging insults at each other but it's pretty fucking boring for the most part. "oe'r er wuch wheyyyyy wull the bowler bowl ut thus teme I wunder" sud the fat commentator, "not lark last time I expuct unluss e's going to be vurry BURing laark what befure..."

Fuck test cricket. A piss poor excuse for fat lazy cunts to stand around for FIVE fucking days and probably not get a result, at least in football in last sixteen cup fixtures they get to fire short volleys at a hapless deer in the headlights goalkeeper, or if your david beckham half of portugal. It's not perfect but YOU GET A RESULT, THERE'S A REASON THEY DON'T HAVE A TEST WORLD CUP AND THAT'S BECAUSE IT COULD GET RAINED OUT AND TOTALLY FUCKING BORING IN A SEMI-FINAL. WHAT WOULD THEY DO IF THEY HAD A DRAW - HIT BALLS AT THE WHITE SCREEN? IMA JUST TRYING TO THINK HERE EI OF ANOTHER SPORT THAT HAS TO CHANGE IT'S RULES SO IT CAN BE PLAYED IN AN INTERNATIONAL WORLD CUP FORMAT AND I'M SORRY BUT YOUR STUPID GAY CRICKET IS THE ONLY ONE I CAN COME UP WITH. FLAWED MUCH!!???? IN YOUR ARSE!!!?!!!!!!111

but i'm sorry i'm arguing for you. how else would cricket work it's not designed that way. to entertain or achieve anything other than an insipid result THIS much <holds finger and thumb really close together> of the world cares about. England, australia (for shame), the sub continent (that includes new zealand) and the racialist boers. oh and the dutch who spanked you. lol.

it's cool that you like it just please respect that I don't, stop trying to rope me into your gaydom corral. put down that lasso special soldier.

personally I can't wait for the 4th test, two draws, one ending in a gentlemens' agreement that playing on was pointless because fuck it, it was only going to end in a draw, after '5' days even though it really wasn't because a good portion of those days was rained out with the inclement english weather - in summer. WHAT an excitement fest. Only bettered by the australian broadcaster playing re-runs of what happened last week - even though we knew on account of it having already happened, whenever it was raining. Imagine the nail-biting. if you can.

Bell is quality he's just underachieved, he is to English batsmen that Liverpool are to the Premier League.

And Collingwood is a great player and has been in top form since the Windies.

To conclude, you're both nuts. Prior should be the target of your irritation, closely followed by Broad who's not done much at all.

he should also make a mental note to string Bopara up by his big fat nose.

he has to change the order as we cant really drop Bopara (we have no one else) and if anyone mentions Rob 'Pie' Key, I will kill them.

Swap Bopara and Collingwood around.

I think we should be more worried about our fielding, there were dropped balls and piss poor attempts at boundary saves all over the park yesterday. It was like having 11 Matt Prior's on the field.

Strauss should also make a mental note not to get Bop to bowl a few overs, Colly's your man for that.

I'm starting to think the series will be a draw, we've lost all momentum since Lords.

But then I remember we're playing Australia not a decent team like NZ or SA, and I'm happy again.

um, derr fred, i know people found our team unlikeable because of the sledging. what the sledging also did was get into professional sportsmen's heads and make them play more shite than they actually were. now we arent allowed to do it, for fear of making the precious little teddy bears cry again.

i dont want them to be likeable, i want them to win. when fattie flintoff points someone to the stands, i want no less than three players to get right in his ear when he comes out to bat, and then have siddle put the next two overs on his fucking chin. send a couple beamers at his head, and ask him if he's got some more poses he'd like to share.

steve waugh was not what youd call a likeable guy, and could largely be credited (maybe along with allan border?) for the 'sledging' mindset that was so successful, but i, and you, and most aussies would have his babies - probably more than a few people of other nations also, despite his - as i see it - unlikeability.

iddqd the reason people find/FOUND our team so unlikeable is BECAUSE of the sledging. They were hands down the best side on the planet and when they were serving up inept opponent arse on a platter, they sledged. 'Back to the sheds with you ineptitude we're winning because we're so awesome, btw, we fucked your mum.' It wasn't nice. It wasn't sporting, it certainly wasn't underarm bowling but it was close. It WASN'T our football team defining our sporting spirit on a global scale. therein lies the lesson.

yeah, youre right, the poms are the masters of sporting behaviour.

flintoff imperiously pointing (whichever batsman it was, i think katich) to the stands after dismissing him (like the utter toolbag he is) is of course the height sporting behaviour. we can all take a leaf out of england's book of chivalrous sport, especially strauss' chapter where you claim catches that hit the ground.

bitchy, circular back-and-forth's aside (because australia are no less guilty), the point is that these guys are professional sportsmen. there is verbal niggle in every sport, and its one of the things that really made the australian team so very strong for so very long - getting inside opposing teams heads and making otherwise extremely talented and capable sportsmen fail at the things they can do in their sleep. see 'south african cricket' in reference to this.

after all, the old adage, what happens on the field, stays on the field is in my mind, a - if not the - core definition of 'sportsmanship'. its not like we had a copyright on sledging, anyone is able to do it. further it doesnt just involve sledging - in fact it can largely be done without, particularly racist stuff (though i personally couldnt care less if they are being racist), we seem to have been shoe-horned into behaving like meek little lambs, as opposed to the confident, arrogant douches that you guys friggin hate.

when strauss says 'australia have lost their aura' he (whether he knows it or not) is talking about this. we have lost our 'aura' because we have been henpecked by media (and probably a cricket board nervously looking after the almighty sponsor dollar, forgetting that the arrogance is what got all the sponsorship in the first place, with all teh success) into playing in some silent, almost antiseptic manner that is completely at odds with our sporting culture - a highly successful sporting culture at that.

that, and our bowling attack is FUCKED, and they WONT FUCKING PICK STUART CLARK THE FUCKING MORONS.

that blind old cunt gets a MINIMUM of 3 decisions utterly wrong (not jsut a little wrong, that happens, especially with dodgy edges or line-ball LBW decision) - like the 'catch' that wasnt - he had already sent one such decision (rightly) upstairs to be looked at, but not the second one, which clearly on replay had hit the ground WELL before strauss' hands.

now on the news today we have warney telling the aussie team EXACTLY what i said just a bit further down the page, just the other day - they need to sledge again, and use that mentality to impose themselves on players and teams.

political correctness is beating australia, rather than cricket teams.

Agreed

That guy is fucking crap. Johnson's decision was terrible when he was batting, Clark's was certainly doubtful enough to be given not out.

Bell should certainly have been out last night before stumps.

I can't believe he can give a decision like Clark's and not give Bell out. It just doesn't make sense.

I'm fine for him to give Johnson and Clark but he certainly has to give Bell as well if he wants to remain consistent. The fact that he didn't do that suggests that he is just guessing and therefore should never be a 1st class umpire again.

And yes, for all you fuckheads who are about to tell me how hard it is, I do it all the time so fuck off.

Looking back on how excited I was when we first acquired him... who they gave up initially to get him...and knowing full well that they were not going to try and sign him long term this year...and then watching him play in TB and looking like complete dogshit...

I don't care that he's gone. He didn't do a fucking thing in 4 months as an A.

But we gave up 3 big leaguers (last year) to get three "prospects", and the number 1 prospect appears to be a fatass.

he's the epitome of 'meh'

he'll bowl a steady line that does nothing but aggravate a batsman into making a poor shot after 3 hours, and he'll get 30 with the bat in an uninteresting way.

hilfenhaus is good, just feel sorry for Hughes and I have never rated Watson, he's like a slightly squashed version, minus the talent, of Michael Clarke.

lee is at least 2 years past his best.

he bowled well in that tour match, and it would have been nice to see him bowl at cardiff, but he was always about the super-pace, which he doesnt have anymore

mitchell johnson, when not bowling like a fag, is probably the best bowler in the world, at least in the top 3, and certainly of greater value than anyone else in the australian side. however, clark is basically a poor-mans mcgrath, which is still more mcgrath than anyone else in the world has, so i was just dismayed - DISMAYED - when they chose not to play him, particularly at lords.

hughes hasnt performed. its not like we're short of batsmen, we have run scorers all over the place. our bowling, however, has been (aside from hilfenhaus, who was born to play in england, but almost nowhere else, like most english players) WOEFUL, and we need another option in attack. plus i dont htink anyone knows or remembers how watson bats or bowls, and the last footage is too scratchy and difficult to see from having been in archives for so long that i think the plan is noone in the england side will know how to bowl to him or face his deliveries

they seem worried about Clarks fitness but I would have thought he was your best bowler behind Brett Lee. I fancy him to replace Siddle in this match, Siddle looks angry but a bit toothless.

hes also one of the most prolific bowlers AND batsmen ever to do either, let alone both.

i dont get why they have dropped Hughes, seems really harsh. IF they are basing it on his mental fragility (getting out to the short ball on leg stump) then surely Watsons mental fragility is FAR worse, he averages something like 19 and is always getting injured.

he makes freddie look fit

in my opinion, if you guys actually win this series, you can thank whatever idiots who were responsible for not selecting stuart clark to play in the first two, ESPECIALLY at lords.

he didnt adapt. and our selectors have had a raging megahuge boner for watson for the better part of a decade now, and want to actually get some of all the money we've paid him before he picks up injury #93,741 iwithin the next week or so.

though in 3 years, maybe less, hughes is gonna be averaging 60.

and seriously, can the yanks fuck off?

this is a sport almost none of you are remotely capable of understanding as it involves more than 3 seconds of attention every 10 mintues, and is tactically more demanding than your average game of hop-scotch. (though NFL is pretty tactically interesting, if boring as fuck).

actually, fuck it, im wrong to say the above, i like most sports, and i like stuff about yank soprts also (ive played basketball since about the age of 10, and love it intensely) - even baseball, although it mostly sucks. the mindlessly patriotic bleating about other nations sports is just so typical of the laughably loud, ignorant and just purposefully stupid yank stereotype.

isntead of going DERP LOL YUR DUM SPORTS IS DUM AND STOOPID LOL GO BEARS WOO AMURICA RULES USA USA USA why not try and see what makes a sizeable chunk of this planet's population (probably more than a 1/3 of the population, seriously) fanatical about a sport that appears on the surface to be boring as fuck and takes 5 days to play...

meh, freddie is merely ok. ive never been a huge fan, despite his successes vs australia, on english soil. id take kallis LONG before freddie and mitchell johnson before him aslo (when hes not bowling utter shite, which has been doing for the last year or more (bowling well, that is), before this ashes) - kallis is as good with the ball and far better with the bat, johnson is better with the ball and better with the bat (though not as good as kallis). still, i wouldnt say no, i suppose to a *healthy* freddie. though he only really seems to perform in england.

Im afraid Flintoff is fucking amazing!

Then again we would hate him if he did all those celebrations against us.

However I and many other England fans like Brett Lee and IF you had the chance you would take Flintoff into your team any day of the week.

Rob Key is a fat useless cunt. Ian Bell is talented but has no bottle.

This test match will be a draw.

just an utterly poor performance almost all around from australia in the 2nd test. except for clarke's 2nd innings.

should be 1-1, but for ponting's mystifying bowling selections at the end of the 1st test.

and i have no fucking idea why they refused to play stuart clark. really irritating. i like siddle, hes a try-er and works his arse off all game, but he isnt worth a clark who is at 50%.

and freddie is as big a toolbag as any aussie cricketer - EVER. if he was playing for us you'd see how much of a cock he is with his gaylord poses. and can you imagine the whining of your bitchy old media if one of the aussies pointed a pommy batsman to the stands after getting a dismissal.

the major difference between this current australian side and the sides of the last 20 years (aside from shane warne and glenn mcgrath) is that they have been henpecked by handwringing milksops in the media (yours AND ours) bitching and moaning about how mean they are, and have had to adjust a tactic that had professional sportsmen crying into the post-loss beers - as waugh overdramatically put it: mental disintergration. OH NOES DA BIG BAD MEAN CRIKETERS DONE SAID A MEAN FING ABOUT HIM.
